What we collect when you use the check, why, and how to get it deleted.

What we collect

If you complete the check, we collect the answers you give and the email address you enter. If you choose to upload a photo of your wall, balcony or socket, we collect that too. Nothing is collected if you only read the pages.

We do not ask for your name, your address or your phone number, and you should not put them in the free text of the form.

Why we collect it

To give you your result, to send it to you, and to improve the questions when the answers show that people are getting stuck. Your email is used to send you your result and anything you asked for. We will not sell it, and we will not pass it to a fitter or a retailer unless you ask us to.

Who processes it

The questionnaire runs on Tally, which stores the responses on our behalf. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Both are processors acting on our instructions.

Links to other sites

Some links on this site take you to retailers or to services that help you find a tradesperson, and we may earn a commission or a referral fee if you use them. Once you leave this site, the other site is in charge of your data, not us, and their privacy notice applies.

How long we keep it

Responses are kept for as long as they are useful for improving the check, and photos are deleted once the question they were sent to answer has been dealt with. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@plug-in-solar-energy.co.uk and we will deal with it.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
